January 11 - Committing To Memory

As the 3TB My Book for Mac has been acting up a bit (with both Seagates feisty and one possibly passed on), time to buy yet another hard drive,

now a 4 Toshiba --

bit overboard,

perhaps,

but seemingly the only option over 2 that is compatible with the old MacBook OS X 10.5.8 (a.k.a. Leopard) system...

While an initial tech person assures that everything is "plug and play,"

it seems prudent to have a second helpful representative set up the new scenario, and, sure enough, problems are encountered, but the situation is solved thanks to quick google research.

Returning home,

am mystified to find that the plug is apparently incomplete (google the issue, receiving clues), and, returning, sure enough,

the prongs, now detachable (why????!!!!) had been inadvertently left in situ by the helper, appologizes profusely.

A very small problem, after major assistance.  Spend most of the night, in tandem with other endeavors, transferring files.

Previous to this, rescue the old microwave from the outer brightness (turns out it is not quite dead yet, and the newer purchase had proved problematic*),

*VLADIMIR:  This is becoming really insignificant.

ESTRAGON:  Not enough.

Silence.

plus a visit from Megan.  Another day of mid-60's, tipping the balance this month with a nicely balanced 5 days in the 50's and now 6 in the 60's...
