September 3 - Days of Rapt
Thomas of Celano's Dies Irae (Day of Wrath) for the Theoreticians, as Dictation / Keyboard-Solfege / Board Harmony, reviewing Week 3 material and looking ahead to 4.
Imaginative Composition 1's from Matthew et al (with Trevor jumping into the mix as a comparison between Tenor and Baritone Saxophones + the notion of Transposing Instruments) and the
third Quiz, with musical examples drawn from Native-American and Gregorian Chant sources, in addition to the Musica Enchiriadis (c. 850). Owen checks in re next semester, and we decide (with virtually unanimous imput to same effect from the class) that this Theory I experience will continue as 8-10:50am Tues/Thurs, as opposed to 8-9:20am Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs (the two-days-a-week early commute is challenging enough, + historically this instructional scenario has been more popular than t'other).

lunch with Carol after -- as well as paper-grading, Opus 33 work,
and a beeline back to the local Community Medical Center,
since the arm remains compromised and the antibiotics are just about to run out (but at least the office construction is proceeding apace).
Make an appointment for tomorrow, and calculate a ration of medication that should just about work until then.
