After a brilliant (though unphotographed) yesterday, today unfolds sketchy, difficult to get a fix, partially due to a malfuncioning cloud app, but other sources suggest dire (OK wonderful re the drought) situations to the north and east -- including 100% chance of rain in Soda Springs and not much better (worse) in Reno (90%).
Well, so much for Nevada's Huffaker Hills; instead, off to Mt. Diablo, via picking up Carol and the southerly access: Danville,
Southgate
Road
to
the
Ranger
Station,
the
outskirts of Rock City,
Curry
Point,
views from
northwest to southeast.
Finally,
the
Summit,
spectacular
sights
from the parking lot,
and
observation stairs
and
platform.
With
a last visit here before 2008,
there
is
much
change in the
visitor center and
environs,
including
the re-christening and paving
of the
Fire Trail as Mary Bowerman,
contouring around to sights including the
North
Peak
and
Devil's Pulpit.
Onward
through
re-growth
and
drought,
eventually
back
in the car,
down along the
North access,
and beyond,
